I don't know what comes first — me or
my passion for fishing? Sometimes I cannot find the answer.
Since childhood I have excelled in fisheries to become part
of the Italian shot club in the "Junior" category
at the age of 14 having attended the prestigious School Federal
for four years. In addition to several minor titles, in 1996
I made the second step of the podium and this was the national
launching pa d for my development when I found the support
of anglers, businesses, retailers and companies that believed
in my potential. At the same time the fishing contests create
in me a frantic passion for big carp, enough to begin my first
experiments in the late eighties. Unfortunately I did not
fully involve the competitive spirit and above all could not
stand being outside for days and only actually fishing for
three hours. It was in carpfishing therefore, which, with its
multi-day sessions, I found what I was really looking for
from fishing. I have now practised this discipline for almost
fifteen years and the photos testify in full what I have just
said!
Since the end of 2001 I have contributed to
the magazine racing "NOI PESCATORI" as a columnist
heading the Planet Carp section. After a year I contributed
my first text to the prestigious magazine CARPAXTUTTI where
I now work with regularity. Unfortunately, the area where
I live is full of ponds that are unsuitable to cultivate the
best of my morbid passion and I am often forced to travel
many miles / kilometres to reach acceptable waters, where
the real big fish live. The hard work and sacrifice was also
fun, so that only after the appropriate time was I repaid
with several fish over 20Kg... and the time that the scales
balance went towards the 30... Well it was not just luck was
it! Now I live for my carp fishing in the traditional manner,
with indifference to the competitive world but as an eternal
challenge to myself, trying to reach different goals. But always
motivated by the same passion that stirred so vigorously when
I was a child. For these simple reasons I spend a lot of my
fishing time in complete solitude, and in all conditions and
circumstances, living the true "race" just between
me and the carp. |
